Stannel \Stan"nel\ (-n[e^]l), n. [AS. st[=a]ngella, stangilla;
   properly, stone yeller, i. e., a bird that yells from the
   rocks. See Stone, and Yell, and cf. Stonegall.] (Zool.)

   stanchel, stand hawk, stannel hawk, steingale,
