Any American flounder of the genus Paralichthys, especially Paralicthys dentatus, found in the Atlantic Ocean and in adjacent bays. --RHUD [PJC] 3. (Zool.) A parasitic trematode worm of several species, having a flat, lanceolate body and two suckers.
